If you are anxious, try reciting these prayers to leave your mind quiet

No matter how your life is, we all need to breathe deeply and try to remember not to dwell on things we can not control. It is best to focus on the things we can control: like inner peace. By working the characteristics of our own hearts and minds, we will be better able to help ourselves, our family, and our friends.

Many people find prayer to be an effective way of doing this. Prayer and meditation can be good for your health , especially when it comes to reducing blood pressure. Being physically fit can bring you some peace at a difficult time. So concentrate and pray.

Here are five prayers that can reduce your stress and hopefully bring you some of the peace you are looking for.

Prayer of the Peace of San Francisco

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace; Where there is hate, may I take love; Where there is discord, let me bring the union; Where there is doubt, let me take the faith; Where there are errors, let me take the truth; Where there is offensive words, shall I bring forgiveness; Where there is despair, I may bring hope; Where there is sadness, I may bring joy; Where there is darkness, let me bring light.

O Master, make me seek more comfort, than to be comforted; To understand, to be understood; To love, to be loved; It is in giving that we receive; It is forgiving, forgiven; And it is dying that one lives for eternal life.

Amen

Prayer to Overcome the Difficulties of Life

O Lord, we invoke you in this time of suffering,  give us the strength and the will to carry our heavy  burdens,

until we can again feel the warmth and love of  his divine compassion. Look upon us and be merciful  to us as we strive to understand the difficulties of life.

Keep us always with you, until we can walk again with  hearts of light and renewed spirit.

Christian Prayer for the Peace of the Mind

Almighty God, we thank you for our lives, for your great mercy and for the grace we have received. We thank you for your faithfulness, even though we are not so faithful to you. Lord Jesus, we ask you to give us all possible peace in our mind, body, soul and spirit. We want you to heal and remove everything that is causing stress, pain and sadness in our lives.

Please lead our way through life and let our enemies be at peace with us. Leave your reign of peace in our family, in our place of work and everything in our hands.

Let your angels of peace go before us when we leave and stand by our side when we return.

In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Psalm 31: 1-6

In thee, O LORD, do I trust; Never leave me confused.

Deliver me in your righteousness.

Incline thine ear unto me, deliver me quickly;

Be my firm rock, a very strong house to save me.

For you are my rock and my fortress;

so, for the sake of your name, lead me and guide me.

Take me from the net that they hid for me,

for you are my strength.

Into your hands I commend my spirit;

thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

I hate those who indulge in deceitful vanities;

But I trust in the Lord.

Psalm 121

I will lift up mine eyes unto the mountains, whence my help cometh.

My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot falter; he that keepeth thee shall not slumber.

Behold, the keeper of Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is the one who keeps you; the Lord is your shadow at your right hand.

The sun will not bother you by day nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all evil; will guard your soul.

The Lord will guard your entrance and your exit, from now on and forever.
